Bergen County Jury Awards $1 Million Verdict against Englewood Plastic Surgeon Who Performed Eyelid Surgery Without Consent

Hackensack, New Jersey, June 22, 2016 — A Bergen County Superior Court Jury today rendered a verdict for $1 million to an Englewood Cliffs resident who alleged that Dr. Norberto Soto, a plastic surgeon, had performed eyelid surgery without her consent in March 2012. The jury found that Dr. Soto failed to obtain informed consent and that she was entitled to a $1 million award as compensation for her damages.

The verdict came after a five-day trial before New Jersey Superior Court Judge Rachelle L. Harz. Thomas S. Howard, counsel for the plaintiff and a partner in the Hackensack firm of Howard Law LLP, assisted by Peter A. Tabisz, said: “We appreciate the jury’s diligence and hard work in righting the wrong that was done to our client.”
